Clear Fork, Upper Cowlitz: Gear size to bring?
Going out for some hiking and camping this weekend and struggling to figure out which gear to bring for some fishing on the upper Cowlitz & tribs. I've been carefully reviewing the rules and boundaries. I believe I can fish the Clear Fork with a spinning rod and some artificial lures. Has anyone who has fished this area know if the upper Cow has a lot of return of coho and can steelhead be found this far up? I'd rather not bring a lot of gear with me so trying to get some help to narrow down what goes in the car. Thanks in advance for any tips.

Re: Clear Fork, Upper Cowlitz: Gear size to bring?
Replying to my own thread for anyone in the future reading this. The upper Cowlitz and the tribs (Clear Fork/Ohanapocesh) nearby where I stayed were low in flow and the waters in many areas were very shallow. Assuming there are better spots up and down this river but in my location there was lots and lots of bank to walk around on. Could wade around easily in the water but some choke points had some sketchy fast current. From where I camped there was a couple fishable sections of river that I threw a line to. Didn't see too much activity in the water at all. Not certain but I doubt much salmon are caught this far up and if they are they are probably pretty turned. Didn't see any indications of anyone fishing salmon in this area.
Started fishing late afternoon and I ended up just bringing a 7' medium light trout rod & spinning reel with very light weight. Right about dusk ended up hooking into a couple smaller sized whitefish using pre tied beads. Went the C&R route as I wasn't eating them or taking anything home with me on this trip.
