I didn't make it to the end. He just irritated me too much. Sounded like he just got back from the river and got skunked while everyone 'round limited, so he bought a fish at the store on the way home.

hahaha. watch the other video I mentioned he makes little styrofoam cutouts of sockeye. He also hates chinook and loves coho far to much. watch his video entitled "kitsuch" and look at the video as well as the comments. you will see what I mean

Blue backs CAN be enticed into biting. Plunking cured shrimp chunks behind a spin n glo or running them off a jet diver is probably your best bet. The stretch they are opening is big water, its a plunking gig for sure, boat or bank. Target the slower water.

For those not already in the know, Baker opens July 1st. Likely won't be many fish in by then, but it will be open. Not sure what approach they are aiming for by opening the river and altering the lake season, but they are trying to fix a fishery that wasn't broken IMO. =;

Yea i wish they would wait to open until the lake has a lot of fish like last year, with it opening so early, its going to be annoying trying to decide when to go/knowing when theyre gonna put more fish in. However, it might keep crowds down a bit on the good days if people dont do well on the opener and dont come back once they actually dump the large numbers in we are expected to recieve. I guess we will have to see, should make for a longer season i guess, but more difficult fishin. Better stock up on them chrome dodgers now, i made the mistake of waiting last year, and when i hooked a big sock that ran into one of those huge trees that comes up 30 feet in the water, i couldnt get another in the good color!!!

Ive had that happen before. Last year gettin into the silvers my dad and two other buddies of ours limited within an hour and I was so damn pissed cause I was in the exact same hole on the exact same setup. However I didnt go to the store after and buy fish haha.

You can tell the time to go by watching the fish transport numbers on the PSE site. It was very handy last year.

Definitely does not seem like the dedicated true outdoors man...he's spoiled for being and Canada and not fish...HA! I've also never seen anyone fillet a fish like that in my life...

Yeah im all about the nooks as well, although there arent many in the rivers in july so might as well fish for sockeye. Of course ill be getting some action in the salt with nooks then.

I will be moving to King or Snohomish county soon, and I have yet to catch a sockeye. And it is one of my goals this coming year. I do not know much about them except that they are not aggressive, and they are mostly plankton feeders. I am not much of a fan of flossing, so I am curious as to why they would bite better in the lake then the river.
