My daughter is critically ill

Post by Toni » Mon Sep 27, 2010 12:44 am

I got a call this evening (11pm) from a doctor at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I was asleep so my mind wasn't working to well to think of questions to ask at the time. He called to advise me that my daughter was critically ill and in ICU. She has had a miscarriage and there is something wrong with her gallbladder and they have to wait for tests to come back and about draining it.
Earlier they said she was very sick from an infection and would have her gallbladder taken out. It appears she is so sick they are concerned for her during the surgery to take it out.

I have now made airline reservations to go to NC tonight and I will be there Tuesday morning.

Please pray.

2:30am I just got off the phone with the doctors and they say that the infection has gone to her liver and it is now in her blood, her kidneys are starting to fail.
She is going into the operating room in just a few minutes. They don't know if the the infection source is the gall bladder or something to do with the miscarriage. They feel they have to get the source of the infection out. She now has a breathing tube.

Thank you guys. The first part of the surgery went well. I am just waiting for word on the second part.

5:54 am update. The second part they took out her gallbladder and all her other organs look good.

Thank you all.
She is out of surgery and still in ICU. She still has the breathing tube but she didn't die on the operating table.

Thank you Jesus.

Thnak you! Now Alawna’s lungs have quit working (100% oxygen) and they want to put a tube in her groin then into her neck to circulate the blood.

Toni, That is the same machine they put my daughter on when she was born - she wouldn't be here if it wasn't for that machine. I know alot about it. PM me if I can answer any questions or give you any insite on it..
