C.A.S.T. For Kids Sept.11

Post by kevinb » Mon Aug 30, 2010 4:08 pm

From Jim Owens

SEPTEMBER 11, 2010

The 19th annual CAST for Kids fishing event for special needs children is just around the corner. We are expecting at least 40 kids to participate this year and we need your help. We need you and your boat to come join us and have a fabulous and very worthwhile time taking these kids out fishing.

You should be there at about 7:30 that morning. We get together near the Kidd Valley restaurant. We will have coffee, pastries, and a free parking permit waiting for you. The kids start coming at 8:30. By 9:00 we hope to have them all loaded and out fishing. You come back in between 11:30 and 12:00 to show off you catches and sharing in a great BBQ lunch and awards ceremony. We should be done by 2:00 at the latest.

Also, please talk with other club members or fisherman that you know and get them to bring their boats too. They will love it and be glad that you invited them.

Please contact me to let me know that you can come and for any questions you might have.

Thankx!!

I'm not sure if I'll be able to make it this year, but I highly encourage everyone to drop by if they can. Jim and the CAST folks really do an amazing job on these events, and they can always use all the support they can get. I've been doing these for over 10 years now, and each event leaves a lasting memory. Plus it's pretty easy to put the kids on huge schools of perch and have a blast watching them catch fish!

I hope to make it down and meet some fellow walakes members.

My family helped at the last Fishing Kids event this summer and could not have met a better group of people. Looking forward to this event also. Should be a blast.

A great event, kids had smiles ear to ear. Just wanted give thanks to all the volunteers, kids, parents, sponsors
and Jim Owens for making all of this possible. Also wanted to give a big round of applause to the members of the
Western Bass Club, these folks showed up in force to donate their time and boats.

Very nice and well organized event, we actually had more boats show than kids! The weather was great and the fish were cooperative, everyone seemed to have a good time.
