Deadeye nice!!!!!!! I too caught my personal best at Tapps on Saturday! 43in. 21pounds 3ounces (posted in the reports). Nice photos! What time did you get yours? Mine came about 10:15 just after the first mini-hydro boater tore up the main part of the lake.
ps nevermind just read your post, all the answers are there!

Congrats Kenster. Beauty. It's so cool that everyone is putting them back. That means someone else can get just as excited as you did from that same fish.
Those cradles sure hold a fish nice.
Congrats again.

Kenster, 21.2 lbs. is about right for a 43" fish. You didn't post a girth measurement, but a 43-incher should have a girth of around 19 or 20 inches at this time of year, and the formula L X G X G / 800 would give a weight of 21.2 lbs. if girth is 19.8 inches.

RE:Personal Best today on Tapps
I really have to find someone now to go out with my husband and I and teach us how to fish for Muskie! I keep seeing people say that they went out with so and so, but how did they arrange that? My husband and I know how to fish for trout.....that's about it!!!!!!

RE:Personal Best today on Tapps
If you show up with a boat at Merwin Lake sometime next week, I'll either find someone to take you out or do it myself. We meet at Jack's Restaurant for breakfast every morning.
RE:Personal Best today on Tapps
Is there a better time of day that Muskie generally bite? I am pretty sure I can find some information on this website on it, but thought I'd ask on here. We can usually only go out fishing in the evenings on weekdays. Which is why we have stuck only to trout fishing. Granted, I went on a charter boat for Sturgeon last March and had a blast!!!

The best time to go muskie fishing is whenever you can. Evenings should be good at this time of year.

RE:Personal Best today on Tapps
Whoa! If that muskie was an inch bigger you'd need a larger boat! Amazing fish! It's a good thing you practiced catch and release, otherwise the water level of the lake would of dropped at least a foot!
