Where did you get a good deal like that??? I have 2 of them as well as the 8-17. Great sticks. I've been doing a bit of driving to catch these tasty little buggers. It's not what you know, it's who you know regarding Steelhead. Super secret squirrel spots are earned not given. That's step 1 in your learning process Dan. aka Danielson. Your new name is Dan ok?

Hit me up later.. [wub] [wub]

That's a coho, man. Good thing too, if it were a trout, it'd be a wild steelhead which you cant bonk. You should be able to ID the fish you catch so that you 1 know how to mark 'em and 2 don't keep something you shouldn't. No sockeye in the puke, they need a lake to spawn in, no lakes on the puke. Here's a helpful link - http://wdfw.wa.gov/fishing/salmon/identification.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Congratulations on catching your first fish!! Correct me if I am wrong, but is this is your first one here in the USA? Good job buddy. Keep hammerin em! There are a lot of interesting reads you can find on the internet as well as prior posts on here. The library is also another useful resource or calling the WDFW office. Press 1 for English, don't forget. And of course: read the Regulation Pamphlet. That little bugger can be tricky.

FINALLY landed my very first winter steelie, ever... after drooling over these killer shots and fishing countless hours, yesterday turned out to be an EPIC day on the river. I went 7/13 and my buddy landed this gorgeous 10+ lber. Can't thank everyone enough for sharing their tips/advice and awesome photos here. Positive yesterday would not have been the same without all of your help. Hope to be able to post more pics in the coming weeks!

MANY THANKS!
