fishing reports

Post by Amx » Thu Apr 14, 2011 8:17 pm

Make it so EVERY report HAS TO HAVE a fish specie selected or the report doesn't go thru.

I'll try to do a better job of filling them in if they were left blank.

They can't be left blank. That field is already required for all reports and has been for... years? The only reports that don't show the species are the old reports, and we are in the process of filling those in when we have time.

New report in the last few minutes has the specie blank. It's been doing that on some reports since I've been a member here.

Hmm, I am failing to see why it is a big deal? Having it as an option is a nice feature, but usually if you read the report you know what they were fishing for??

Mostly so you don't HAVE to read the report to know what they were fishing for. It was the bass anglers that mostly requested that feature so they could weed out the trout reports and get to the bass reports easier.

4/5 Mattoon report by Duane Daniles
3/30 Sprague report by johnsgonefishin
3/24 Hog Canyon report by perch09

I think I forgot to report species in my last one. It's obvious (well to me at least) that the target was trout but still.

so it is ok for YOU to cry about a thread/article about an alligator biting a teen, that YOU didn't have to even open the thread, but it's not ok for ME to cry about having to open a report just to find out it is about a fish I'm not interested in and wasting my time? YOU might want to just chill out and not worry so much about others.

and no there is usually no way to really tell what a report is about by the lake being fished. it has to be opened and read.
