I've had the itch since ice out last year. Bought the flasher after all the ice melted in fact. Almost pulled the trigger on a portable ice shelter, but missed out on the $1 shipping from Bass Pro. I usually like to head out light and drill multiple holes finding the fish. Now I'm thinking the flasher was a big mistake. Used to just take my auger, bucket, pole (backup pole), one jig and a puck of maggots.

I was at Costco yesterday and bought a pair of ice and snow studded slip on your shoes pads. They look awesome and would be excellent for ice fishing.Or just hiking in general in the snow and ice. I wear my Baseball cleats but my feet freeze in those.

cremode or a porta potty would be nice. When I'm fishing the middle of like Fish lake a small porta potty would be great to use as a chair or a pooper.

next is hand warmers.and with that come the toe warmers.

Thermos for coffee

Gear......

I take my sled for transporting

I take a couple vegetable spoons to clear the ice..

An Auger.

bait.

When youre up to your rear end in alligators, its hard to remember that the initial plan was to drain the swamp.

I saw those the other day, was thinking about a pair for my wading boots for getting too/from the rivers.
I fish not because I regard fishing as being terribly important, but because I suspect that so many of the other concerns of men are equally unimportant, and not nearly so much fun. ~ John Volker
