WDFW Question and Answers Forum Page

Post by rseas » Wed Aug 18, 2010 3:34 pm

Mike

I just posted my first WDFW question post for Stacie. Would it be possible to create a WDFW Question and Answers forum page? If so, we could generate and track individual discussion topics. This would increase the informational exchange value for both the original author and the casual reader.

Great idea. It would have to be monitored heavily though. So not to become a WDFW debate and bickering thread. But with all the recent questions and information that have come up in threads, it might get a lot of activity. Expecially since there is someone on here from WDFW. On here and actually cares to engage and discuss with us anyways.

No way! I need to be monitored myself. Don't know how that would work.
Plus, people that become moderators are no longer cool. :geek:

I like the idea. My suggestion to Stacie on the "WDFW Q and A Thread -Questions for Stacie Kelsey WDFW" thread ...
Gringo Pescador wrote:IMHO I like the general idea, but then you would have to wade through one long thread to find the subject matter you are looking for which could get tedious (especially when there might be 5 or 10 subject floating at once). Better yet, maybe dialog with Mike Carey and see about a WDFW forum section, that way each subject would have it's own thread, and next year, when the same questions are asked, you can just refer people to that thread instead of repeating yourself.

That's ok with me, being cool is too much work and really overrated anyway.
I fish not because I regard fishing as being terribly important, but because I suspect that so many of the other concerns of men are equally unimportant, and not nearly so much fun. ~ John Volker

One thing I will throw out. I am more into the question, discussion and answer aspects of posting on the forum. I am very far removed from the politics of it all. That's for folks that make a lot more money than I do.

I realize the Agency does a lot of things that makes people upset and I'm all about good disucssions, even if people disagree with me. The thing I really like about this forum is that people can disagree but they have a good discussion about it and it doesn't get nasty (from what I've seen anyway). Those are the discussions I like to be a part of. Maybe I can educate folks, and most certainly I will get some education.

I'm here to assist in any way I can, in whatever mode the Mods think is best. Plus there are a lot of people that will also be able to answer questions, especially for areas I have little knowledge in (marine, crabbing, shellfish etc.).

I look forward to helping in any way I can and thanks so much to everyone on this forum for making an excellent place to come and discuss fisheries.
