Who else in western washington heard those booms? I can't find anything on it right now. Sounded like a bomb.

The President is in Seattle today. A plane flew into the unauthorized fly zone and the Air National Gaurd scrambled jets to intercept it. Those booms were sonic booms. (heard it on the radio, must be true!)

Funny you say that cuz I was gonna mention his plane probobly got bombed but didn`t want to be rude. Even though I dislike the guy it doesn`t mean I want to see him fall like that.

Ok now the news is starting to talk about it. Never knew those sonic booms were so loud. When i first heard it my first reaction was "Uh-oh North Korea went and did it."

There is a reason why you aren't supposed to break the sound barrier in a metropolitan area, now you know why... I wonder if home owners insurance covers damage due to sonic boom?

They used to be commonplace, back about 40 years ago. I miss 'em , they were cool.

I heard the jets were scrambled from Portland - 7 minutes flight time. Now that's beating the rush hour traffic!

They had their afterburners on the whole way. When they took off from Portland boy you could hear it. I ran out of the office and they were flying low and fast. I thought oh crap, what's happened now.

Yep, I can see why you might wonder that.

Ironic, that sonic boom sounds just like my mother inlaw's first step in the morning. Like a dinosaur.....

Seriously,my son and I were in the pool and heard two booms, the first much louder, followed by another but not
nearly as impressive. I just assumed it was Fort Lewis playing with some toys which is fairly common.....but we did have fear that my mother inlaw was making an unscheduled visit.

When youre up to your rear end in alligators, its hard to remember that the initial plan was to drain the swamp.
