Sunset Falls hatchery

Post by motorek » Mon Nov 02, 2009 10:30 am

What kind of hatchery it is and where it is located? I am reading escapement reports of that hatchery but I can not find out where it is located.
Thanks

Its on the south fork of the skykomish river. That is all I know of it. They do steelhead there for sure.

There is no hatchery above Sunset Falls. They have a fish trapping facility below the falls and they transport the trapped fish 3-4 miles above the series of falls and release them. These fish are considered "wild" even though historically no anadramous fish were able to ascend the falls.

Sorry I missread the articles I glanced at. It is a fish trap at sunset falls. The steelhead that make there way up there are related to the Reiter Ponds Hatchery. But I didnt read all the info this time either.
