To All,
What do the rest of you think about this?
If you're referring to the kids getting rides that's great IMO, the child should have a permission slip from a parent. And, anyone, including kids, will need to be entered in the event.

If you're referring to the boating insurance, it's a liability thing for us - this is a pay to enter, sponsored event. We have to have liability protection. I hope that's not going to be an issue fr people. Anyone that has a boat should have insurance anyway as a matter of their own liability.

I know Dez...the ONLY thing I'm a bit concerned about is that I see a potential liability from their parents, of course they would be in the boat too. But also I just wanted some feedback from other members since it's everybodys site and we all have input. Thanks for yours by the way...I CAN overthink things! I think it would be great to be able to take a kid out who otherwise would be stuck on shore...or not even come out because of it. :-& Thanks Mav

OK, let's keep things in perspective here. Anytime you take someone out in your boat fishing you're assuming liability - that's the world we live in. Because this is an official event we are requiring people show proof of insurance. That's the way all tournaments are run, at least to my knowledge.

I would GREATLY appreciate people signing up sooner than later so we can get a good sense of how much grub needs to be bought, and how crazy busy it will be. Print out the forms and send them my way.

Thanks!

Man, this should be great. Not sure if I'll make it yet, but would love to call in sick to fish the WL derby!!:-$

#1. Back seats.....anyone offering?

#2 Mike, don't want to complicate things, but I have a question. First off, I've never fished a tourny. SO, I can safely assume shore anglers don't need boat insurance. What about tubes, toons, row boats (no motor)? Just curious....that may be my only option.

Thanks, and let the best (aka luckiest :-# ) angler win!!
I have caught many fish in my life. The most exciting? The next one.....

The only thing you are required to have from shore is a valid Fishing license ! as for tubes and pontoons .. these crafts dont require insurance unless you have a really big one with an outboard on it . You will need to sign the waiver form if you chose to get in any kind of water craft .. Looking forward to seeing ya there rolland , are you gonna help me with the casting contest again this year ?

Dez is correct, the tubers and toon guys only need to sign the waiver. Shore anglers, just a waiver. I wish we could get Pay Pal or Google set up for this. Maybe we can set it up in the store. I'll run it by Aaron again.

3rd Annual Extravaganza and Derby 09'

Let's get a Roll Call going.
Post up if your going, how many in your party and if you can bring a sidedish.

1) Mike Carey - Hot Dogs/Buns
2) fishnislife - Chips/Dip
3) BajograndesDez
4) Swede - salmon/sausage
5) mav186 +1 - dessert
6) jediangler420
7)
8)
9)

Don't feel that you have to bring anything. We are getting close to having enough food. Sign up and get your forms in guys.
As much as we are focused on the Derby, we do want to remind everyone that this is our Extravaganza and we want it to be more of a meet and greet, bbq-get-together than a competition. The derby will be great and we are all excited to see some big fish, but this is the time of year again to meet up and hang out with your favorite charaters of WL.com.
