The Tru-Tungsten 4 inch baits are REALLY small. They have great action though. I got a perch also.

that's what i heard, and i think i'm ok with it, so long as they are the size of a larger crank like a dt 16 or something. you'll have to let me know how it works for you over there.

I was really surprised at how small they are, Rip-Shad's dwarf the TT's and both are listed at 4"

the sloswimmer looks very nice. $129 isnt too bad since it floats and you can retrieve it if your line snaps. I have a cl8 and it has way too many hooks..........................................

I'll re-phrase my statement. After getting a nice collection of hudds and soft bodied baits, you can't go wrong spending $50 on the hard mattgill.

a tru tungsten swimbait would be a better choice for $50 IMO.

i already bought this year 10 swimbaits smallers than 6" so i wont be wasting anymore $$$ on tiny baits...i like the 7-10" size with a minimum of 3 sections. If your gonna spend a bunch of cash, might as well spend it on something that swims like a real fish. I've seen videos on the mattlure hardbaits and the action lets say, "isnt the best"

But im sure youll catch something on it...if your throw it out enough :dwarf: Sheesh you could throw out a hotdog on a bobber and eventually a dumb bass will hit it hahaha

i say Rapala is the way to go.

Rapala doesnt make any swimbaits yet, maybe someday they will. They make good hardbaits so a swim from them could be decent, and possible bring the price down.


To me, that Mattgill swims quite nice. If you compare and actual swimming fish to most hard swimbaits, you can see they dont swim naturally. Ive never seen a fish swim with an "S" pattern, only snakes. If there is anything thats realistic its a Hudd. If hardbaits do anything, it would be looking injured, unnatural, sick, whatever, which is what I think draws the strike on them lures. Just look at probably the top swimbait, the Triple Troot. The action on that is so unnatural its crazy, but it seems to outperform most.

if imitating a super real swim was key to swimbaiting I should throw away half of mine lol.

rapala makes them big-ass saltwater brokebacks some people caught nice bass with.
