Well actually it isn't. The website has 1869 photos of lakes. You can certainly find your favorite lake, copy the photo to your desktop and upload it to a post. I'm sure Mike won't charge you a fee. Here is the first photo alphabetically in the lake gallery.
The only draw back is the size of the photo. But if you don't have a photo, you can still participate in the game by doing this.

Any more clues? If not, can we move on.

Sorry, i was expecting more guesses. Heres a dead giveaway so we can move on. Anadromous fish can't traverse much of this river. Some would say its a 'dam' shame

I spent a lot of time on the Elwha but didn't recognize that stretch. Only got it from the clues.
Good news, that dam is coming down and the Elwha should return into a much better fishery.

~Men and fish are alike. They both get into trouble when they open their mouths.

~My biggest worry is that my wife (when I'm dead) will sell my fishing gear for what I said I paid for it.

Here's a really easy one. If it was of the water anyone could guess it, but I had to post it because I gotta show off this picture. Why else would anyone stand waist deep in frigid water shaking icicles off their guides but for views like this? OH. Right. The adrenaline rush of tugging on a big winter steelhead.
