A prayer for Captain Phil and all Fishermen of the world

Post by smokum » Thu Feb 11, 2010 8:01 am

The loss of Phil Harris has hit me in the gut and I'm not sure if this prayer has ever been posted here, but here it is and it is really appropriate for any of us who take to the water for our recreation and decompression time:

Fisherman's Prayer

God grant that I may live to fish,
until my dying day,
And when it comes to my last cast,
I then most humbly pray,
When in the Lord's safe landing net,
I'm peacefully asleep,
That in his mercy I be judged,
As big enough to keep.

sadly to say, my guide buddy sage that lives in alaska knew him very well. due to the fact that he took him on a couple trips for a reduced price.
