If I would have only known then what I know today.
About twelve years into very bad fifteen year marriage and shortly after I took a first aid refresher course my X choked on a hot dog and I had to use the Heimlich maneuver. I could have just walked away but noooooooo I had to be a hero. I’m 100% sure that I saved her life. I don’t know that I could make that same decision today...Not that I’m bitter or anything.

Well, for all the just plain nasty by-partisan hate mail we all get... Even though I lean quite a bit more to the Left than Right... I only now have been able to go back and see the pics. and Re-read the post. And I must say I got a kick out of this one. Sounds like a BS story. You can't take out a mortgage without both spouses signing the loan.

Dude needs to grow a pair and put her on an allowance as well as enrolling both of them in a basic home finance course. If she can't live with that, time to cut ties and get out before bankruptcy becomes the only financial option. I can never understand the thought process of people who spend money they don't have. Especially if it means having to do without basic necessitities like health insurance, rent, untilities, etc.

But what if the house is only in her name? ie it was hers before they got married?

Smokes heavily but has good vacuum.
Has had recent body work, new headlights installed.
Runs good on cheap alcohol.
Was used as a trash hauling vehicle and driven regularly by various garbage men.

i would sit down with her.show her the bills and ask her how are (we) going to pay for all this? show her the number's.let her know that you guy's can not afford to do this type of spending anymore.when i say you guy's i don't mean just you.cause it seems as if she is the one doing all the spending.but by the way it sound's.she does not want to be put at blame for it all.but if it was me i would sit down with her show her the numbers and ask her how are we going to pay for all this.eventually you will help her come to the conclusion that you guy's cant spend money like that.or at least you guys can't afford to spend money like that.i know it sound's corny but say lets put a daily limit on what we spend.i'm sure you can work something out.
