OK, I am very frustrated with this lake. I fished Blue Lake in the Cda chain of lakes several times many years ago and never touched a fish, on days where I was slaying them in the other lakes, so I have been avoiding it for years. The water in this lake looks like a pike fishermans dream. Are there any pike in this lake (or bass for that matter)???? I fished it twice last year, no bites, I fished it on Saturday and again, it looked absolutely perfect for pike and bass but no bites again. I fished spoons, jerk baits, soft plastic frogs, and spinner baits, but nada. Never even saw a fish. I saw another boat in there but did not see them hook up. In fact, I heve never seen anyone catch a fish in that lake.
Is anyone on this website an expert on this lake? I did see a post earlier in the year from someone catching pike in Blue Lake, but can't remember who it was. I would gladly put someone in my boat and take them fishing at this lake if they could show me what I'm doing wrong. Seriously.
Any thoughts???
Blue Lake in the Cda chains???

Re: Blue Lake in the Cda chains???
Hopefully Abomb can give you more detailed info. I have only fished it one time and it was for a couple hours,so I know this lake as well as I know Swan Although I do know it has northerns,a couple boats have caught fish during tournaments but unsure of overall placement. Certainly a lake I would like to learn more but I'm typically on a tight schedule, get stubborn and opt for spots that have produced before.I finally started expanding a little and trying other waters like Bull Run and a brief look at Rose. I guess that's a positive in favor of north Idaho,so many options but never enough time. Be over there very soon. Good luck!

There are definitely pike in there. We prefished it for the tournament this year and did well in a few spots. It wasn't our best lake so I haven't fished it since then. A couple of the bays have good structure, There is at least one really good weedline and the ledge in the back of the lake have all been productive.
