Steely Bass?

Post by HillbillyGeek » Wed Dec 11, 2013 8:56 am

Just curious; has anyone tried using bass gear for steelhead?
The 1/2 oz jerk bait might work. I've caught everything from slab crappie to smallmouth on them.
Another staple is the skinny black worm. In this case, it's a slim senko. These are unique because they are relatively heavy and castable.
What do you think?

I haven't tried bass gear for steelhead, but I have caught smallmouth twitching a black steelhead jig..

Why not? A buddy found a blue rubber washer/spacer type thing in the belly of one once.
