smallest shrimps you can get. Start underneath dock.

Fishing for perch is simple. I use nightcrawlers or sandshrimp. But there are some artificial jigs that work for them, grubs forr crappie seem to work.

You can hook it up to a 3 way swivel, w/ a pyramid weight, and a size 6 or 8 gamagatsue. Or you can just use a slip weight 2' of leader and whatever for bait, jig or hook. Or you can do one of those 2 or 3 hook set ups. If you are going to Des Moines, stop by at the ABC grocery. They have a lot of tackle, bait and the owner can give you some tips on what to do.
