Point No Point & Bush Point Beach Fishing

Post by DannyL » Sun Jul 19, 2015 10:34 am

Ive heard the rumors that there are fish in and being caught off the beaches all around Whidbey and PNP. Thinking about hitting somewhere up Monday. Anyone doing any good?

Was at pnp yesterday. Lots of people on the shore, even more boats. Saw nothing hauled in by either method. I've heard they're in as well, it's still just a touch early. Give it another week or two and it'll be lights out

Keep an eye on the emergency regs changes on-line. The word is area 9 will be closed down soon - almost certainly before next weekend.

Was going to say the same thing. Spoke with fish counter in Everett and they said they expect some sort of announcement regarding closure of Area 9 to Chinook (to boats and I assume beach people as well) come Tuesday. Meaning everybody will run to Edmonds but here is the bad news.... nothing off the pier so far this year.

Your right. Don't know why I was thinking 4700. Should verify my aging memory before I type.

That's alright koda. I just wanted to make sure that we were all looking at the same numbers and that I wasn't wrong.

They just updated the numbers...

1,253 caught out of the 2,483 quota. So, almost exactly half of the quota is gone in just a few days. Get those KANGS while you still can!

There are pinks trickling in. When they shut down the chinook fishery, it will still be open for pinks and coho. Im also curious about bush point. Ive always wanted to try it.

I fished bush point to lagoon point from Thursday to Sunday and pulled pinks out of there every day. Lagoon is the next point north of bush. Small public beach there and then the next spot that is good is the pumphouse aka driftwood park. All have great shore fishing for pinks and silvers. It's not red hot yet but there are fish there.

HAHAHA! Thank you for that laugh this morning. To get back to your question, the closest town is Freeland or Greenbank . Bush Point will be on the western shore on WHIDBEY Island near those towns.

Great resource there Larry.

Checked out the area myself and one thing I would add is to click the SonarChart button below to see even more details of the map. You can also do this on the mobile app.

Bush Point is okay but I fished there last week and it was swamped with off islanders. A few fish being pulled if you you like combat fishing. GO TO South Whidbey state park and hike down you will be much happier.
