That was a pretty all around sharpening Mcgadgit!
I use on of the "Chef's choice" models. I went through a handful of sharpeners before settling on this one. Items like this are great for taking burrs out, or re-defining a whole edge to a blade, but once the edge is defined, a quality steel will brighten up the edge with a few quick passes over the blade.
But regarding your link, ya man..... That thing looks like it will work in many capacities.

Quad I'd be a real cad to accept your accolades, but some other WA Laker was the stand up guy that sent you the sharpener. I've never owned one.

We take our Wusthof's in for professional sharpening once a year, and I bring my fillet knives in at the same time. He does them all for $25. I steel them before every use and even though they don't really need resharpening annually, it's nice to make sure the edges are keen.

We have those el cheapo knives around the house.... I just want to grind them till they're gone... LOL

Just wanted to give a shout out and public THANK YOU to Blufin Loui for being such a nice guy to send me his "Chef's Choice 110 electric knife sharpener. Lewis had PM'ed me said he would send it for just the cost of postage. I wasn't expecting him to do this of course.
Got the package today, the unit looks great. Lewis being from Chelan is a do right guy and sent some killer good smelling Red Delicious apples with the sharpener. Not to mention that you threw in a bag of agates, crystals, etc. Don't know if you knew it somehow, but my son collects rocks big time!

You're a stand up guy Lewis and you make this online community a great place! Thanks a lot!
(Most people know Blufin Loui from his great Rufus reports.... last Spring he also guided myself and another walkes member VIA cell phone... down to a launch at Rufus Woods.)

i bought the standard work sharp system for $60. works great and sharpens every knife i own sharp enough to shave my arm.

I have the worksharp that you have linked and it works great! But I have nothing to compare it to..

I've used both. I have the chef's choice upn on top of the fridge and haven't brought it out since I picked up a work sharp. The chef's choice works well, but if you have a blade that you need to break in, it takes like 20 minutes. The work sharp will have it done in a minute! And you can replace the belts. When the diamond stuff comes off on the Chef's Choice you need to buy a new unit. Before I fillet my fish, I run the knife through the Work Sharp once, and voila! Sharper than new. I couldn't get away with sharpening my fillet knife once a year, after a year of work, that thing would be a butter knife at my house.

Thing to be wary of with your worksharp is that it works very fast! You can grind away the blade super fast if you don't get the right angle.

Is that the same Worksharp that Mike did a video on? All my knives suck and need a proper sharpening by someone who knows what they are doing.

That's the state of affairs around here. I've resorted to serrated blades for most things because of it. Nate put the bug in my ear a month or so ago and I feel the need to squash it. Fast and affordable is what I'm looking for. The $70 Worksharp seems to be the better of the two for my purpose, knives only.. I was just looking for confirmation before pulling the trigger.

Anyone who has touched one of my knives, knows the meaning of sharp.

But, this is what I used for years for keeping all the knives in the fish house more than razor sharp. This one is not for the faint of heart. If you want to sharpen a knife for all day use this is the only one.

Both look good. On the first one, I'm looking to get away from deviation from knife to knife or the work involved, call me lazy if you will, I'm looking for motorized. I would expect nothing less than a perfectly honed blade from you....You are a perfectionist!
On the second one, looks badass but at a grand, LOL, it's out of my range... but great to look at!

OHHHHHHhhhh! I reread this... Is this a newer version of the $70 one?.... if so, I can wait a bit longer! Mod # ?

WSKTS is the mod I'm looking at currently, and a $10 box of various grit belts, spares, avoiding Amazon and the 10% tax, under $80 to the door!

Work Sharp WSKTS-KT Knife and Tool Sharpener Field Kit ....... includes some extras that look to be worth the $85 asking price at Amazon,,, must add tax though

I just searched those vids, there's actually 4 of them in here, IDK that....... I'd seen worksharp here before but really didn't feel the need at the time.... right now, I'm just tired of effing dull knives...

work sharp will solve all of your problems and dull knife woes. They did not pay me to say that.
