Has anyone ever fished or know anything about Jorgenson lake or Mosquito lake in whatcom county? They are along HWY 542 off of Mosquito lake RD.
I went up to silver lake today by Black mountain and on my way back went to both of these lakes. There is no public access, but after hiking in passed many no trespassing signs, I found one of the lakes and wanted to fish but it was getting dark.
I saw two beaver and a whole herd of deer along the waterfront, it was amazing. Never seen so many deer in one spot at one time.
any info would be great. Thanks

never fished jorgenson or mosquito, but i have read they are pretty shallow. it sounds like there is pretty low Dissolved Oxygen (DO), so not much by way of fish species, maybe bullhead/catfish. but like i said, i have not actually fished it, or know of anyone who has. i don't think they are stocked either...
Canyon lake, now i've fished that one. now they have the road gated, so it's a bit of a hike (4 miles from the "upper" gate, six from the "bottom" gate), or not so bad on a mountain bike (that's what i did) when the snow melts. i have fished it twice, once in summer and once through the ice, skunked both times. It is supposed to hold rainbows from years past, but i can't confirm that, yet! Shore fishing is a bit limited, but if you're used to that you can make do. Virtually NO fishing pressure since the road washed out and gates closed in NOV. 2006. if you go, let me know how you do...i'll be up there a couple times this summer to try again. good luck.....

oh, one more quick note Rabbits....i'm not trying to be a preacher, but you shouldn't make a habit of this. SERIOUSLY!, for your own safety, i live not but a stones throw from these lakes, and i hear "target practice" every saturday and sunday morning. You have a great respect for the land and water....and hopefully private property. At least ask permission....(for all of us)...thanks

You have to be very careful now about trespassing on private property. If I remember right, the property owner no longer is required to post their land in this state. It is the responsibility of the trespasser to find out if it is private or public.
