It's winter time on the fishing forums.. we all need to keep awake here.
Can anyone give a possible ID to the fish in this gulls mouth? I enjoy bird photography, and this was a pic of a bird that a friend took recently. She asked if it was a bass, but I am pretty certain it isn't a bass. My first question was to ask her what body of water it came from. It came from a brackish water body that is known as Fir Island. This is a delta area N. of La Connor, Skagit area.
I thought the fish seemed to have what looks like catfish whiskers up near the birds mouth, and the tail is an odd shape.
Hard to trust the color because it prob. has some lightroom edits.
Unfortunately I think cropped down version will come up REAL small, if so I will throw up the full size version.
