If you like the Fishery make yourself heard at the upcoming meeting. Sorry for the late post, just saw it myself. Wish I could go, work is in the way. From the CCA News letter:
Please show your support for recreational sockeye fisheries on Baker Lake! On Saturday, November 1 from 10:00AM until noon, WDFW will host a meeting at their Regional Office in Mill Creek (16018 Mill Creek Blvd).

Baker Lake Sockeye!
Build a man a fire and he's warm for the night. Light a man on fire and he's warm the rest of his life!
Re: Baker Lake Sockeye!
The meeting was very informative for me, glad I took the time to go. It would have been good to have more supporters there however there was a turnout of roughly 38+ people at rough count. Unfortunately, the individuals presenting the meeting had another meeting commitment in SW Washington later that afternoon, that ended up conflicting with this schedule. I am in no way implying this was by design, simply to infer that further constructive discussions could have been had with more available time and I look forward to the opportunity to attend further discussions. As it was, the meeting ran for roughly 2.5 hours. I was impressed with what I believe to be a commitment to transparency on behalf of not only DFW, but also the tribes, regarding this topic, and thank the presenters for their time and effort.

I read elsewhere that the tribes get to still keep 50% and as long as 7500 reach the hatchery there is no need to change anything.
Re: Baker Lake Sockeye!
Is that a question, or are you perfectly content with the status quo?
Total spawning escapement requirements are 7,800 fish. Total "anticipated" run, less escapement fish, defines harvestable surplus, which is split 50/50. That basic formula will likely not change and is not up for discussion. What can potentially change is seasons (specifically in river but possibly lake), bag limits, and future hatchery production, (which may also effect future brood stock escapement requirements). Additionally, this topic is on the radar for the North of Falcon meetings. I am not sure what, if any, impact that may have.

The above comment is way more informative compared to your first post in the topic . As for my post it wasn't a question just a statement... but ya the status quo resumes but I do believe in the tearing up off tribal treaties so they are rewritten to the current health of our environment and public opinion is taken into consideration.
