I was talking to a guy at Dick's in Burlington last Sunday.
He advised me not to eat fish from Cavanaugh because it was very poluted from all of the septic systems along the shoreline.
Don't know if that's true but I did see a boat trolling along there Sunday afternoon.

It's been a few years, but I have consumed plenty of Kokanee from Cav.
They didn't taste any different than anythin else.
I don't though think of pollution as something you necessarily taste.

Something to consider though is that likely almost any rural lake that that is out of the city limits, probably has the majority of its houses on a septic system. What is interesting about Cav. is that on the 2 largest islands there are 2 cabins that at least one of which is fairly good sized, set up for over nighting, etc. the owner even has a pickup truck that resides on the island.

Water is tested there May through September every year by the Lake Cavanaugh Improvement Association. There is little to no pollution present there.

We have consumed many Cavanaugh fish with no ill effect. Taste; most of our Cavanaugh fish are either red or pink flesh and quite delectable. Kokanee or otherwise I don't ever recall finding worms or other parasites in the Cavanaugh fish.
