Shore Hotspots Lake Roosevelt

Post by OldFishGuy » Sun Mar 05, 2017 4:38 pm

Hoping to make a trip to Roosevelt this month. Can anyone suggest good shore fishing spots within reasonable driving distance from Coulee City ? This OldFishGuy can't hike too far.

WDFW has a recent Dec video on You Tube about Shore fishing. I do not know the area, but it sounds like you would know the location that they Driver down to, brought their chairs and had a good ole time not far from where they parked.
Check it out

If you are on Facebook do a search for" Dam Fishing on Lake Roosevelt ". A very nice lady is the administrator of the site and gives a lot of good advice for bank fishermen.

OK. . . Lots of lookers, but not many comments. Thinking to spend a couple nights in Wilbur and go from there. I see two possibilities. Seven Bays or Keller Ferry. Any other hot spots in the vicinity ?

I've only recently gotten to fish Lake Roosevelt in the last 2-3 years and by small boat at that, but something that has jumped out at me in peoples' comments on shore fishing that area: be on the lookout for rattle snakes! I have little idea about their habits, but you should probably know more than that, before you go. Best of luck!

Not a problem for now. . . they don't like snow and ice.

Ft Spokane is a good place. Beach just a short walk from the parking lot.

Gotten skunked @ Hunter's 3x this year. I know someone that says he's limiting out pretty much each time he's up there but no dice for us. We've considered Ft. Spokane as an alternate.

You can find shore fishing opportunities at the Lincoln Mill boat launch, west of seven bays. Seven bays has shore access as well as fort Spokane. As someone else mentioned,at fort Spokane, you can park at the far end of the parking lot and walk to the beach that's across from two rivers. I have fished there in years past and done well, and have seen many fishermen catching fish there to. You can even try all three of those spots. Hit Lincoln first, then seven bays, then Ft. Spokane.

A word of caution if using National Park Service ramps and parking areas your WDFW access pass is not valid within park boundaries. [wink]

Lots of spots right off the road North of the Gifford Ferry. That's about 12 miles North of Hunters.
