These pics have been going around for a couple years now. The bottom pic doesn't go with the other two either. Neither does most of the stories attached to these pics. It is a huge northern though.

+1.
These pictures have made the rounds on the internet BB's, and Deadeyemark is right. Check that bottom picture. Much different water chop and sun shining on the fish. No sun in the first two pictures...

I stumbled across those pictures 2.5-3 years ago. The bottom picture was not a part of the top 2 pictures of the huge pike. From what I read though that huge pike was caught in Holland. It is even called out as a European pike on this forum:
http://www.fishingfury.com/categories/world/italy/
Have you guys ever seen the picture of the record Italy pike?
The fish was released but apparently it bottomed out his 55lb scale.
http://www.stripersonline.com/surftalk/ ... ?p=4163040
I guess it was no one time fish for him either:
http://www.fishinfo.com/fishingreports/ ... /1051.html
I also saw this article up in Manitoba Canada while on a fly-in Canadian fishing trip to Gods River Lodge back in 1999
Yet there are still pike of that size here stateside. The following was caught in Colorado of all places 53 1/4" 45.5 lb northern pike caught back in july of 2006
with the following article:
http://www.denverpost.com/outdoors/ci_7390058
This is why I love the Esox Lucius

Heck ya! I was looking the other night at Cedar Lake in Manitoba (where the estimated 70" pike was caught from). It sounds like it could be realatively inexpensive for a Canada Trip especially with a lot of the cost being split.

We'll add you in as well. Pike waters in western Canada are hit and miss. For B.C.,you have to go pretty far north past Prince George but Alberta has a few lakes that are much closer to Washington.

It's on like donkey kong. I say next summer to Cedar Lake Manitoba where they caught this hog:
everybody start saving up (shouldn't be too much driving there)
here is a website I found:
http://www.outdoorcanada.ca/fish/hot_spots05h.shtml
I stumbled across a perfect hotel/motel previously but now I can't find the website. Once I find it I will post it.

Great find Lucius.
I'm game for this....We can get some plans going and hit it by next summer or late spring.
Very reasonable rates too. Can't beat that.

If Canada is the place...thats cool and I will gladly go. But gas prices I'm a little worried about.
I'm kicking the idea of something a little closer but with good planning,I'm sure anything will work.
Might be able to do more fishing than driving...anyhow,...just an idea is all

That's SOME fish!!! =d>
Try Ontario Canada, Eagle Lake, Sydney Lake or Kilburn Lake or Leech Lake, MN. for nice Pike. Love them Muskie, but Pike are fun to catch too!
