Any word on a King fishery on the Skykomish and Wallace rivers?

Well they haven't said they're going to cut the summer kings in the sky, but in the rule changes from the hearings, haven't said they'll open it at all in the snoho or wallace. I've also heard the rumors, but I'm guessing that's all they are right now. Although I think it would be a lot nicer to the bank anglers if they at least opened up the lower section of the Wallace to angling, fit's darn tricky to get at those kings in the big water on the Sky. Reports for the Snoq were sub par this year, so I don't expect an opening in the snohomish. If they had their heads screwed on properly they open the wallace after they got their quota. That river was plum full of hatchery spawners from the hatchery to sultan, making "wild" fish to intermingle with the legitimately wild fish. Every nook and cranny of that river was jam packed with at least five kings. I doubt they will though. Just read there will be NO King fishery on the Sky this year. I suppose there could be an emergency opening later in the season if escapement goals are reached, but doubtful.

Everett Herald, Hunting/Fishing section of the sports page. On a positive note, looks like we get a lower Skagit Sockeye fishery and a Snohomish River system Chum fishery....

speaking of skagit sockeye fishery, its suppose to be record breaking run this year. CANT WAIT for baker lake.

"Hatfield said the month of October has been added to the Port Susan coho fishery this year. In freshwater, he said, there will be no chinook season on the Skykomish, but there will be a chum fishery on the Snohomish system, Sept. 1 to Dec. 31, with a prediction of 10,000 surplus fish over escapement goals on the system."

They haven't even said anything about it.
