the biggest problem with the internets is overly opinionated people.. easy to do behind a keyboard

everyone is entitled to an "opinion" but saying your opinions is the fact or law or rule is a joke..
Opinions are never right or wrong, they are merely a figment of what someone believes.

not sure who you're calling "bro" either.. aint me.. [thumbup]

I know, I know. I could ignore these threads but i like to see all of your dramas unfold sometimes too..

for the record, when salmon fishing, 98% of the time I fish with jigs or drifting dick nites slow and low with 4 to 5' leader.. that is fact.. [rolleyes]

Well help me out, what will our washington anglers do if they ban flossing or making some rivers "bait only?"
I think it will increase sales in a lot of other equipment. Sounds like a good idea to me.

Again (or is it still)?.. #-o

If you are done hearing about it, quit reading the thread and let it die.
If they ban flossing in Washington then let them do it and let the chips fall where they may
15-30 foot leader? If it is legal, have fun, I want to see how you cast that sucker, then I'll go find my own stretch of river.

Legal is legal, if you don't like what is legal, then take it up with the WDFW. If enough people do that, things may change...or not
If you see something illegal - program the poaching hotline in to your phone ans use it (I have it and do) 1-877-933-9847
Opinions are like.. err... noses yeah like noses, everybody has one.
The definition of ethical fishing lies within each fisherman. What I define as ethical may not be what you define it as. Doesn't mean either of us are wrong, it is what it is.

There is a way we each prefer to fish, and if you are like me you are glad to share and/or teach those tactics to anyone who wants to listen and learn. BUT just as you wouldn't want some one to shove thier methods down your throat or demean you for them, the same goes for others as far as your methods.

Healthy debate I like, just don't let it get personal [thumbsup]
I fish not because I regard fishing as being terribly important, but because I suspect that so many of the other concerns of men are equally unimportant, and not nearly so much fun. ~ John Volker

Yep, unless I have a picture of it, each catch of mine grows a minimum of 1 inch each time I tell the story, and the ones that got away - 2 inches per story [tongue]

The problem is, at my age that means I caught some bluegill as big as my leg back when I was a kid and that is getting to be harder and harder to sell.. :-$

hahaha yeah what zef said hahaha, IMO we should be able to keep our hatchery fish however we want especially when a hatchery knows they are going to have surplus fish and are just going to give them to a food bank like gorst creek, quilcene and some other rivers that do not have true native runs same with the cowlitz or skookumchuck river steelhead, I do not believe any steelhead that run up those rivers are any part native fish, just 2 hatchery gened fish that did not make it to the hatchery so they spawned below it and created baby "native" fish. IMO those rivers are already screwed up and should be hatchery fish zones or in other worlds, meat rivers with no rules except for some obvious ones.
I also do not care if someone is snagging next to me while I am drifting eggs or something as longs as they release any snagged fish.

Because its against the law..... Working for WSP , we get calls all day long over stupid crap... If I have to out on a call, get dirty walking down to the river ( we don't get waders) and I find someone intentionally snagging fish, by god they are getting ticketed if not worse depending on how they choose to act.... There is no black and white... The law is the law... Either get it changed or follow the law as its written...

Thanks to Toni for posting this info on another thread. OK everyone, add the numbers to your contact list and do your part to report poachers, one group we can all agree needs to be stopped:

I don't know why they don't have enforcement out there every day. The revenue from violators in a week could pay for an entire school district. And run our hatcheries!

first of all I am not a snagger and do not advise it at all because I know it is illegal and second if you have a problem with the ethics of the river and it is not sport, than do not fish that river anymore but really anywhere there are major hatchery runs there is going to be unethical ways of fishing just face the facts and fish how you want to fish and do not worry about others thats what I do. Truthfully, I have seen snagging on almost every river I have fished including the cascade, skagit, bogachiel, skookumchuck, cowlitz, quilcene, dungeness, satsop, and yes the skok. Only the nooch, lyre, calawah and sol duc rivers are the only rivers I have not seen a snagger, try fishing there rton, you might not cry and whine as much.
