Northern Cali Rivers...?

Post by Fish_Bait111397 » Sat Apr 09, 2011 9:30 am

Im back after being absent from the site for two weeks,
was on a vacation in Washington D.C, Baltimore, Boston, Gettysburg,-Williamsburg, and Mount Vernon. Got home about an hour ago, had a 3 hour flight delay. Anyways, i was on the vacation with my grandparents. My grandfather hasnt been fishing for over 20 years !!! I thought that was crazy, then he asked the best question ever- "Jacob, If I pay for a trip to Northern California, do you think you could take me fishing?"... You already know the answer. We are going for 10 days, the first day is on a guided trip, then were on ourselves, the trip is in July-August. I read that the Trinity River, is pretty good for Summer Steel and fall chinook. Has any one fished this river? Or any one have any other good suggestions ? Gear, rivers, etc.?
I dont know how many of you have lived in California and targeted steel, but if you have lived there, and have good knowledge, please let me know.
~Men and fish are alike. They both get into trouble when they open their mouths.

~My biggest worry is that my wife (when I'm dead) will sell my fishing gear for what I said I paid for it.

I grew up on the Trinity and fished the pizz out of it, still go back every so often just to hammer the steel and salmon.

Hit up Travis at: http://sweet-trinity.com/index.html

I grew up with him fishing the Trinity and other local waters. He knows the Trinity better than anyone else around there. Gear and Fly's are welcome in his boat, guy can flat out put you on fish!

The Feather River thru Oroville use to be good. I fished it when I lived there in the late '60s. Sacamento River is good in the Delta of channels for bass. Have a GPS or I hear you'll get lost.
