Sol Duc help needed

Post by kickerfish » Wed Aug 11, 2010 9:03 am

I am getting ready to head out on the annual family camping trip this weekend and plan to camp at Sol Duc Campground (about one mile from Sol Duc Falls). Any recommendations on where to fish the river for some steelies? I am only familiar with the Puke and Nisqually so this will be my first adventure out that way. River is large just looking for a few pinpointed streches or access points for some wader drift fishing. Thanks everyone.

There are many places to fish around there. It's best I share this link rather than explain a whole bunch of stuff . . .

I have fished close to the hatchery and have had great results. But the Sol Duc is an incredible river to fish. Summer Kings are coming into the system right now so be prepared. Hope the map helps, but there are other spots in the area you can fish.

These two, especially the Callawah will produce summer run steelhead.
