Which Western Washington rivers hold bass of any kind? Are they only in the Columbia?

if there are bass in Riffe and Mayfield, I'd think maybe there were some in areas of the cowlitz? i'm totally guessing though, i've never seen a bass i a river, but then again I suck at bass fishing.

Good question, I can't imagine to many rivers on the west here hold'em, to cold of glacial run-off water. Ahh, fond memories of bass in rivers.....smallies AND largies. The second biggest largie I ever caught was in a river under pads.... fun stuff!!
I have caught many fish in my life. The most exciting? The next one.....

Chehalis has em. A buddy and I dropped our tubes into a backwater/beaver pond slough off the main river. Was good fishing. I doubt the area is there since the floods, but who knows. I plan on taking a trip in the not too distant future to check it out.

Other than the Chehalis answer, I don't know if anyone will 'fess up to what they may have found so you will probably have to do some exploring on your own. If I was going to look I would start with the Columbia as the bass "source" and pull out a map to identify the various tributaries and go on a road/boat trip looking for side channels, sloughs, fallen timber, etc. I've never taken the time to go looking but I wouldn't be at all surprised to find bass on those rivers.

There was an article a while back in F&H News about some sloughs off the Columbia near Longview on SR 4. I had the map but I lost it. Looked like some good fishing That's a haul for me for a day of fishing tho.

If you're willing to do the stop and go, there are some ponds off of the Columbia that are a result of adding in the roads that have some great fishing in them.
