Northwest Fishing Reports

Well bassfishing season has slowed down and since I dont do the steelhead deal I needed a way to cure cabin fever. I decided to take up the idea of making my own bass baits. With how expensive some of the swimbaits are that I use i figured I might as well make my own as itd be cheaper in the long run and I'd be able to make them the way I wanted too. Well my buddy and I made the mold for a 4 and 5" line thru swimbait. The 7" is a work in progress and got to pouring.

Here are the first few baits let me know what ya'll think

4 and 5" kokanee, perch ( need to work with it a little more ) and pansy pink

Is that what a kokanee looks like to a bass? Ready to start making squids? Good job!

Very Cool. Can you show what setup of mold you are using and how to pour the colors the way you did for us newbies.

I would say those are open pour molds. Pour the belly color first, then the next, etc. The trick is timing so the colors fuse together properly without leaving a cold crack in the bait. A little practice and it is pretty easy to do. Austin, what craw bait are you pouring? Your'e making me want to get back into it. I love seeing new creations! Keep them coming.

Its a custom design my buddy and i came up with by fusing a few baits together. Really does work some magic. Yea man i was upset when you closed up shop

That 7" trout looks like something I would like to throw for Pike on this side of the state. Well, in Idaho that is. I think I know of some bruisers in Cda Lake that would gobble them up. Great looking bait.

Funny u mention that as I have some buddies that want to fish them for muskies on this side of the state. I dont know how long they would last lol.
