4" curly tail grub rigging... suggestions please.

I picked up some 4" curly tail grubs today and I was wondering what would be the best way to rig it. Should I Tx. rig it, put it on a jig head or maybe on a belly weighted hook?

i think they are best worked on a small jig. but i have also had good luck t rigging them on a 1/0 hook.

I like a 1/8 oz slider above a 1or2 O hook. for deeper water use a 1/2 oz jig head or move to a 1/4 oz slider.

i dont really know if there is a best way. all i ever do is just stick it with a jig head, i dont even bother looking at weight, i just use whatever looks good at the time. the best way to rig it is really so you can fish it the way you want to at the time of rigging though.

How ever you rig it make sure that the curl of the grub and the curl of the hook are the same for the best action. I have caught fish with grubs on jigs,just a hook T-riged. The fish will let you how they like it.

Grubs work very well on the fish around here. Weedless on a EWG hook, T-rigged on the same hook with a small ammount of weight, heck, don't tell everyone, but I even dropshot them. Found that to be super productive. Any way it fits on the hook, and you are money.

Texas rig it, light weight sinker 1/8 or 1/4 ounce but on light line...4-6lb mono or flourocarbon.

It works great, is weedless, and very versatile. My favorite plastic set up, plus curly tail grubs are pretty cheap. I have also used some texas style jigheads (jigheads with cone shape weights built in)

wow i dont go down to 4 or 6 pound line for anything while bass fishing. nothing under 10. if they are line shy use flourocarbon.

If you ever use curly-tail grubs on jig heads, make sure the tail is pointed down when you rig it.

Should work just fine, I've caught a few fish with the setup you proposed. Also, smaller (2") white grubs rigged on a dropshot are money for perch in Lake Washington.
