Boat-in Beaches Everett/Island County Area
The wife is getting excited for crabbing season and had an idea to drop crab pots then boat to a beach for the kids to play at while we let pots soak. We normally launch out of Everett, and have a 17' aluminum boat, so we can run a little ways if the weather permits or alternatively, launch somewher...

Re: Transom Question... Maybe?
It keeps that big wall of water from joining you when you have to back off on the throttle quickly. That makes sense! Everything else does too. I would be less curious about its purpose if it didn't have the top "rail" on that section with the groove in it. I was hoping that it was more purposeful ...

Re: Lake Washington Boat Launch in Kenmore
Boating Safety Card, what's that? When we bought the boat the dealer said it was safe! Yes RSeas, funny, but for the poster, If you don't have a Boaters Safety Card when the safety inspection happens at the launch or you give LE a reason to come aboard, not having it will net you a healthy...

Transom Question... Maybe?
I am calling this a transom question because I don't know what else to call it. I purchased my boat last year from Cabelas and I love it! I am slowly taking time to add accessories such as downriggers and what not, but I had a question about this back rail and my boat and it's functionality or lack ...

Re: Looking for bait and bobber sure thing for 7 YO
Another lake that could be worth trying is Gissberg Ponds in the Smokey Point/Marysville area. Half of the lake is a Juvenile only (15 years or less) fishing which will give you lots of room to practice casting. There are trout, panfish, bass, and a couple other species in there as well. Some King C...

Re: Kellogg lake in sultan
I used to live in Sultan and tried to fish from the bank one time, lots of bugs but also you will be very confined as the bank access is limited to the boat put in area which is narrow. Didn't catch anything and never went back as I didn't have a boat suitable for that lake but if I did I am sure I ...

Re: Lake Washington Boat Launch in Kenmore
I should probably erase some of the bread crumb lines as I have tried a few and some have been good while others have been a little uncomfortable. I run a 17' aluminum outboard so I really shouldn't have issues navigating. As for the management of the slough, I agree. There are quite a few fish that...

Re: Lake Washington Boat Launch in Kenmore
Thanks for your input! I went to check out the Kirkland launch thinking the same thing, free and closer to the cutt action, but I was afraid to launch there due to the weird drop off at the end of the ramp. I tow my boat with our lovely Toyota Sienna which doesn't do well with bumps or sudden change...

Lake Washington Boat Launch in Kenmore
Can someone educate me on the best route from the Kenmore boat launch to Lake Washington? I have launched here probably 10 times now and I constantly find myself worrying about how shallow it gets when leaving the slough past Kenmore Air. It often registers a two feet or less on my fish finder. The ...

Lake Goodwin Launch Status?
Hey everyone, I want to go out fishing soon and thought about Lake Goodwin but want to make sure the work that has been going on has been completed before I haul my boat out there only to turn around and head back to Lake Stevens.
Is the launch open yet???

Trolling Motor Plastic Cover
I have a bow mount MotorGuide Xi3 trolling motor and it has taken a beating from some learning curves with launching the boat as the plastic mount has collided with the roller on the trailer a few times from the trailer not being backed far enough in the water when we launch and retrieve the boat. Y...

Re: Recommendations GPS/fish finder
Funny you should be interested in the Garmin Echomap 43cv as I recently purchased a boat and selected the Garmin Echomap 63cv as my fish finder / GPS combo. Sometimes I feel like I should have done more research before buying as I didn't research adequately at the beginning but fortunately I am very...

Re: Halibut Fishing and Halibut Care
Thanks for the tips Onmygame. We were using whole 9" frozen herring with a hoochie covering it on a spreader bar. Dropped anchor in 80 FOW and hooked up after around 15 minutes. Only had one herring setup in the water at that time, the other two lines were set up with jigs and herring scent. Beginne...

Halibut Fishing and Halibut Care
Hey everyone, we dropped a ton of cash and tried our luck for halibut for the first time on opening day and managed to catch one, a pretty nice 50# halibut. We were pretty excited as our expectations were pretty low but we are planning on going out again and since then I have had a few questions com...

Upper Sky Whitefishing
Not trying to have anyone cough up their premium runs or anything, but I am hoping I can get some advice on fishing for whitefish on the Upper Skykomish River South Fork. It is a quick drive for me to get above sunset falls where fishing for whitefish is still open through the end of the month. I've...
