Re: Trolling speed indicators ?
It depends but generally I think the GPS will be more accurate and consistent. Paddle wheel and vacuum tube style speedometers are know by design to have a large inherent error. At slow speeds the error is greater. GPS sensors may take a few seconds to a minute to calculate, based on the number of s...

Re: A little fixing up
It turned out great! Very creative. I like the industrial look for sure. I just finished a year long project and know the pride you take in a job well done!

Re: Members Boats
LOL. I'm an electrical and electronics engineer by trade so I may overkill some things. I built an aircraft quality wiring harness that should never be a problem. Your right. If you love it, you'll use it. I cant hardly wait to get out again this weekend. I built it for fresh and salt water and I'm ...

Re: Members Boats
Thanks. The original console was too short to stand up behind so I raised it six inches. I also added storage space above it to hold a CB radio and misc. stuff which added more height. I didnt want to clutter the console with engine controls so I opted to mount them on the left. Seemed a bit odd at ...

Re: Finally Finished - A labor of love
The maiden Voyage was done this past Saturday morning. We selected a local freshwater lake. The boat performed perfectly. Up on plane quickly, very fast. Very comfortable to fish from. We kept her bow from in the trees and the water below our knees! Limits of trout were caught by all. I look forward...

Re: Finally Finished - A labor of love
The stringers were fine. The boat deck had been painted with bedliner paint and then someone attempted to grind it off. The floor was gouged real bad so I cut it out. Gave me a chance to move the console forward and I lifted it as well. Also had a chance to inspect the tank. Outside of the engine, I...

Finally Finished - A labor of love
I spent a long time looking for what I wanted in a dual purpose boat. Mostly to use in fresh water lakes but enough of a boat to use crabbing and shrimping in the Puget Sound. I decided to find a hull and restore one to meet my needs. I started with a 1985 Center Console Invader with no motor. A ful...

Re: Members Boats
My current pride and joy is a 1985 17' Invader Center Console. A junk yard find, I spent a year rebuilding it from the bottom up to suit my needs as a dual purpose fresh/salt water boat. Replaced and redesigned all but the hull, she has a 140 HP, EFI Suzuki 2 stroke, all the electronics toys and doe...
