RE:Kayak Fishing
Fishndude- I'm another guy from the NWKA site. If you dig around here I believe there are some photos from the WL.com BBQ with my setup. If you are hitting the salt you need to focus on your personal gear first (pfd, dry wear, etc...) and then your setup. As far as gear goes- I don't tend to bring t...

RE:Any one from the Kanasa area can explain the lakes?
I grew up in Kansas City and fished quite a bit there. The water is darker/murkier because of a few factors: 99% are mud bottom and man-made, most of the lakes aren't developed with homes (effects runoff), and to some extent the weather (heavy rains, four full seasons). I had to relearn how to fish ...

RE:Street Bikes
The Monster is only a 620 (I used to have a 900 Cromo, but it got the best of me and is now a parts bike :-" ). Being that it is a naked bike I tend to keep it in the double digits except for quick bursts every now and again. The bike is really more at home on the twisties than the superslab anyways...

RE:Street Bikes
Right now, I ride a '04 Ducati Monster and a '06 Kawasaki Vulcan. The latter is my commuter bike. I don't have any pic's of the Vulcan, but here are two of the Monster: The top one is from a few years ago at the DNW calendar photo shoot. The bottom one is after I swapped my pipes out. Its for sale i...

No trolling motor needed for the salt, just a Subway footlong :thumleft: Personally, I've done just about everything basswise, trolled for trout, hunted the mighty sturgeon, and jigged for rockfish & lings. Many of my fellow yakfishermen on http://www.northwestkayakanglers.com and http://www.norcalk...

Have you considered a SOT kayak? You can get one, set it up, and still be out less than $1K leaving more money for tackle!
I've been doing it for about two years and absolutely love it.

My wife and I will be there again this year, but not participating in the Derby. You can put me down for bringing some homemade walnut brownies for the potluck. See y'all there!

I can say far worse things about my experience at Washington state campgrounds than SunBanks. In general every campsite in this state has tiny sites, concrete pads you are required to use for your tent location (who the heck came up with this idea), or gravel everwhere for motorhomes/camper trailers...

Why would you want to close the lake during part of the year?

Sweet... I missed this one last year thinking it was in February and would have made the same mistake again this time if it wasn't for this thread.

Marc- Not necessarily, I turned myself around during my time in the Navy and finished my BA graduating Magna cum Laude. I am starting my MBA next fall assuming student loans are even available (GI Bill doesn't pay for a whole lot.) The real waste is watching a man who does not understand the militar...

I flat out don't trust his judgement or his integrity and it scares the crap out of me that as many people buy into his smoke and mirrors idea of how to run a country [into the ground]. Bush may have added a few logs, kindling compared to Clinton, onto the fire, but he didn't strike the match. You a...

Remember the last time a great orator with a cloudy past took office during a time of political and economic uncertainty? Hmmm... 1933. If Obama is elected my 8yrs of service to this nation will have been a waste as a far as I'm concerned. I wholeheartedly believe in order to President you need to h...

I used to be into it a great deal before I moved away from home. Now all of my HO stuff is stored away waiting for me to once again have the space to lay out another board. I pull out some of my Lionel (pre- & post-war) during the holidays for my daughter's amusement now that she is old enough to kn...

I'm a winter basser... be prepared for a painfully slow time, but that makes any catch more rewarding. I will be using suspending jerkbaits this year with my usual weightless plastics on standby.

I'm in a mixed house as well. Zero issues with the Mac and our two of our three PC's (desktop and laptop) anger me at least once a week. My next purchase is going to be a Macbook to phase out my PC laptop. The thing about Windows is that only functions properly when it is stripped down, running only...
