Your VIDEOS have been very helpful!! Been studying em all week and corresponding with other very helpful WN.Lakes.com Baker Fisherpeople!! Ha!! really learned alot since last weekend!! I only hope Im fishn Baker with the proper gear Im used to fishn Kokanee not so much fishn Salmon size in a Lake!! Have a 8 to 12 line an 8" Lamiglass baitcasting pole with a Daiwa Linecounter with 12 pound PLIne !! Hope Im not making a mistake wisper tells me should of gone with a 8 to 15 7"9" Lamiglass with 15 pound line?? Have a Lamiglass heavier pole incase a Downrigger 8 to 20 with 15 or 20 pound line cant rememer with a lil larger Daiwaline counter !! Have a variety of Dodger from 8 to 9 o etc that new skinny one abe n ? Looks kinda neat going to try that!! Got all my stuff tied up! Using 1/0 and 2/0 and sharpened all hooks Macks and Evil ? Sockeye pre tied double hooks Red and various hootchie pings and smile blade!! aprox 10 ' between dodger and hootchie!! Got scents shrimp! Krill!! paste and liquids!! Various Coon scented shrimps! red,Purple,and reg! Made some homemade reg microved shrimp tail and lil chunked shrimp and prawn nectored over night?? going 25 to 35 ft on small downrigger aprox 6 to 10 ft out!! Still learning curve here but Im not a spectator at this sport and need some action hopefully get better before next weekend also have another trip planning stages with another Sockey Fan!! Truely enjoy your sharing your adventures in fishing and sharing the info for others to learn from!! Myself had a massive heart attack aprox 6 or so years ago stiil get to function daily life regularil;y work etc.and my buddy introduced me to fishing and metal detecting seems to relaxe me and relieves stress!! Im self named KidKokanee and my Senior Fishing Partner refrerred to as Kokanee KING !! (Kinda like Grasshopper and Mr. MEOGGIE!!!!)HA!!! we have fun both x marines and prior neighbors and both have Livingston Boats!! And Love Kokanee fishing My fishing Partner has fished Lake WN and Brewster so has experience ! me Im self taught thru books, videos, computer (Washington Lakes .com Salmon and Steelhead University and now a few years under my belt!! Thanks KIDKOKANEE. Sounds like your gear is what you need. Couple of the regulars have reported using their 8' Lamiglas kokanee rods with good results. I go with my salmon DR rods for Baker. Be ready, these fish are crazy wild when they get hooked. I had one jump a good 5 feet out of the water, no exaggeration. You noted leader length between dodger and lure 10', I'm sure you meant 10", LOL. My wife and I will be out there Monday-Wednesday this week so if you see us introduce yourself and say "hi". Good luck. I'm sure this will be the year you land your first sockeye on Baker Lake.
