Spent Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Baker lake last weekend, Started fishing at dawn on Sat morning from the banks, tried salmon eggs, worms and power bait, fished bottom, midwater and top all morning with not even a bite. Later in the day we trolled the lake all afternoon and into the evening and Sunday morning, used Wedding rings with a piece of worm, tried dry flies, lures and flat fish. Not a single hit or bite. First time I've been skunked this summer. Sunday afternoon before packing it in, someone told us about a smaller lake below the dam just to the left before you drive over the dam. The lake looks to be about a mile long and very shallow. My third cast in with a Super Duper lure hooked up with a nice 12 inch fish with a few more to follow. I suppose the weekend was not a total loss. Beautiful place to visit, the view is wonderful, but the only real thing that was biting was the many mosquitos.
