Went out on the big lake last night in search of perch. Stopped at my local 7-11 to get some worms and they were out. Next stop was Safeway to get some shrimp (Never seen a fish that wouldn't take shrimp). Figured I would use the shrimp to catch my first perch, then use perch meat the rest of the night. Turns out I couldn't catch a fish on perch meat, but they sure liked the shrimp. Caught about 20 perch, 12 of those were keepers (10 to 13 inches). Also caught one smallmouth about 1.5 lbs. Nothing more fun than catching a smallmouth, that 1.5 pounder fought harder than any 4 pound trout. Fished the edges of the millfoil in 17 to 22 feet of water, and kept moving until I found fish. Once you find fish drop anchor and the fun begins.

Take a kid fishing,
The Fat Man

By the way, it was rougher than a cob last night. I'll probably need a spinal alignment before getting out again.
