A very pretty morning on Clear Lake. The sun was shining, the wind was down, and best of all the jet ski population was still sleeping off the 4th. Seriously, I hit the lake at 5am, working flashers, wedding bands and worms. However, our little finned friends had other plans. While they seemed to love the worms (whole or bits), they like stealing them even more. A whole lot of short strikes today. I recommend using either maggots, meal worms, or a double hook system (mack's Double Whammey). I did manage to land a fat 12" Koke, but I'm not cleaning for just one fish. He's out there stealing the next guy's worm. BTW, his scales were flaking off. Is this normal in this type of weather?
Tight lines.
