My son went out late Sat. afternoon to feed his passion to fish for bass. He was using a 5 1/2 foot light wieght browning rod when he hooked this 42 3/4" 26 LBS Tiger muskee. He was in our small 9' boat and played the fish for about 15 minutes as it circled the boat several times, dove deep and came all of the way out of the water trying to throw the lure. Being in the boat alone with a 24" net one hand on the net, one on the pole he netted it dropped the pole and two handed it over the side into the boat. The tiger wasn't done yet! it flipped off the lid of the dry well and went over the side into the water! He grabbed the pole again and began to take up the slack but the line broke! Now the fish was swimming along the surface with a net stuck in its gills and a lure in its mouth! He chased it around with the trolling motor finally got a hold of the net handle and got it into the boat for good. 15 minutes later he called me down to the dock to show me this monster informing me that he was still shaking from the adrenalin overload! He will release any future muskee, but for him this one had to come home.
