Went out to lake washington around 5:30am and fished the docks around the north end of the lake. Noticed a lot of salmon fingerlings boiling on the surface more like a frantic escape from the monster smallmouth that would swim around the school of up to 75 fish that were not trout or bass, but these smallies were rounding up this 5 square foot school to a compact 1 square foot school and then would then attack with a flying leap ito the air. So i put on my white spinnerbait with a blue head and pitched behind the school and jerked my rod a few times to get the willow leafs danceN' instantly i had a 2lb. smallie rollN' on my bait then would bite the blades then i let it fall to the bottom and reeled super fast and he hit it. But I wanted that female I saw and a few casts later around 6"40am with a stop and go retrive I got her to hit the spinner and I only had about 7' of line out from the dock, so it was a up close tail danceN' fight. I got her thumbed woke up the hOOd' with a Mike Ike. scream checked for eggs she spawned but that male was full so i think its a matter of a few days and the smallies will be post spawn. But I got a pic of the 4lb. female hope i uploaded it right.
