Took the tube to the big water and had a great day. Mostly. The fishing was great and i had released 6 nice smallies. One of them was pushing 5 pounds. Then the urbanites in their aqua-SUV's showed up and started playing swamp the float tuber. I agree we all have the right to be on the water but some folks should be shot rather than handed the keys to a boat. I tend to hug the shoreline and never go out past the bouys to you'd think i'd be safe from water skiiers and the like, but no. You'd think i had a bulls-eye painted square on my chest. A trio of young men thought it would be funny to cruise within 15 feet of me at full tilt. The girls on the boat thought it was a riot. I didn't. They circled, laughing, then had the brass cajones to motor up and ask how the fishing was. I slid the senko of my 5/0 Gamakatsu so they could plainly see how big the hook was and informed them it would "accidently" end up in their boat if they came within reach of me again, and i'd be yanking. They got the point. Problem is, this is not the first time i've had this problem on this lake. Happens a few times a year. I realize accidents happen but pointing, laughing, and altering your course to bring you CLOSER is no accident. Have a little common sense people. Anyway, fishing was great before i was run off the water, and i plan to go back soon. See you out there. I'll be the one waving a big hook at the speed boats with a threatening look. ;)
