My son and I showed up at 11:30 am. The weather was overcast and about 55 degrees . There were a lot boats on the water , people bank fishing, and dock fishing from the cove resort. We offloaded our 12ft lund and quickly set out fishing the edge of the lake about 30 to 40 yds from the shoreline at a good half speed troll. The first strike came about 5 minutes into the trip just outside the cove launch area near the grassy reeds. This turned out to be a 10 inch rainbow my son landed on a #2 mepps with a gold spinner blade trout pattern. Then shortly later I hooked a 12 inch rainbow on a red wedding ring trailing behind the boat 40 yds. Then we circled the lake and headed for the opposite side we took numerous bites and I finally landed a decent rainbow that jumped out of the water several times. The fish was about 16 inches and pretty fat possibly a hold over. Then it was like shooting ducks in a pond where my son and I took turns catching fish for the next 45 minutes while we trolled down the lake. The rest of the fish turned out to be 10 to 14 inches . They were mostly rainbows and there was even a bull trout that we released back with several of the smaller ones. The fishing was great we only went out for 2.5 hrs and we could of easily limited out if we stayed a little longer. There were several times where I saw some sizable fish leap out of the water.
