Arrived at the lake at 3:30 p.m. It was windy, so we put the boat in and headed to the west end. Did some still fishing with a variety of baits: worm/powerbait, powerbait alone (green glitter and rainbow), and eggs/worms. No bites. We fished high and low. No dice. We trolled and still-fished. Went back in to the cove around 7:00 p.m. and tied up to the dock. I threw my line in the water near the boat launch while TJ took a break. I started getting hits immediately. I was using green glitter powerbait, suspended about 3' from the bottom. Bam! Caught a 9-incher. He hit hard and swallowed the hook, so I kept him. We jumped in the boat and went out into the cove a little bit, just off the boat docks. I started getting hits again. Bam!!! A nice 14-inch Rainbow! We fished for another half hour, then pulled out the boat. We enjoyed the trout grilled with lemon-pepper. It was a great way to end the Memorial Day weekend! We will be back to Fish Lake!
