My dad and I decided to give Rapjohn a try for Opening Day after reading the fishing article in the Seattle Times that said there were 1000 trout planted in the lake that were 14 inches or larger. We lost some valuable fishing time trying to locate the lake. We could not see any signs on Highway 7 marking where to turn for the lake. The road that you need to turn on is 384th. Once we found the lake, we got our boat launched and motored out to where most of the other boats were located. Our first fishing spot did not produce any fish. We moved closer to shore and then we started catching fish. The first one was only 10 inches. After that we started catching some of the larger 14+ inch fish. After fishing on the lake for a little over 4 hours we had 7 trout in the cooler. The largest trout was 16 inches. We were using a few different colors of Powerbait. The lake was not as crowded as I thought it would be. We saw a number of people catching the 14+ inch fish. We got off the lake before the heavy rains started.
