First bass of the year, hooray!! We took a drive to investigate this small lake and I would have liked the trip better if I had brought my boat. The biggest lesson I learned is that I hate shore fishing! It was interesting to watch the big bass, bluegill, and crappie pushing the bait fish against the cliffs at dusk from ten feet up. Next time I'll be throwing up against those cliffs from the water. My lures made too much of a splash from the top! Manage to fool one small one though and that made the trip worth it.

A note to anglers....this is a "internal combustion motors prohibited" water. Which by definition in the regulations does not allow a gas motor to be even attached to the boat, whether it is in the water or not! Several anglers there believed it was OK if you just kept them out of the water. All I can say is I hope the game warden is lenient when you get caught!
