Well this report was going to be a "2". I started fishing at 9am and made my way from the boat launch through the middle lake and on up to the upper lake and back again. A nice morning's row. I caught two 9" planters and had a couple hits. A pleasant morning. Then, at 11:45 as I approached the ramp I had a solid take and brought in a nice triploid of about 16". "Not bad" I thought and threw my line out again (medium sinking fly line, black wooley bugger). Within a minute it was fish on again! A copy of the first. About this time I started to pay more attention to the four bank anglers at the launch - they were all catching big triploids! I put my line out and caught another four nice fish ranging 14-16". And, I found out the cause of our good fishing - at 11am WDFW had come by and dumped "1000 pounds" of fish, according to one of the shore anglers. At around two pounds per fish that comes to about 500 triploids, all very hungry and very willing to take anything moving in front of them. I had to call it a day so I left those (now less than) 500 fish to my fellow anglers. I must admit that after I found out the fish had just been released it took away some of my joy. It was too much like catching fish in a barrel. Oh well, an experience I'm not likely to have again! Oh, water temp 47 degrees, partly sunny, mild, light winds, scattered rain (light).
