Went on 2/16/03 with a couple of guys. We worked very hard from 8AM to 5:30PM for 16 fish. We had a couple of 2 hour blocks where it was just dead. We caught fish on wide bodied spoons and U-20 flatfish. Biggest fish in the boat was 6.5 pounds. We did have a big fish pull off. We had a lot of fish that hit but didn't get hooked up and some more fish that got hooked up and pulled off part way up. My surmising on this is that when you hook a fish when you are trolling slower than 1.2 knots, set the hook after coming tight on the fish. At faster speeds the speed of the lure from the boat sets the hook plenty hard, so once you get tight on the fish, keep a loose drag and give when the fish shakes, runs or twists.
